1. The bank sends the problem check(s) to VeriChek.
2. VeriChek enters the information in our database (collection and verification) and mails a Check Acknowledgment to the customer. This allows the client to adjust their bank records accordingly.
3. VeriChek conducts both a mail and a phone campaign. (See
Our Philosophy for our conduct parameters.) Our letter series consist of two
letters, followed by a certified letter.
4. VeriChek remits trust payments twice per month as checks are collected. An accompanying Payable Report details which checks for that period have been paid.
5. VeriChek files check, if allowed, with the District/County Attorney, Justice Court or governing authority if unable to collect. (In some areas, the court requires the merchant to file. In most cases, we will have the proper form filled out for the merchant and include a copy of the certified letter receipt).
AND IT DOESN'T STOP THERE...
We value our clients and the mutual benefits of our relationship. The sincere belief in this value prompts VeriChek to provide support in all aspects of returned checks. This includes Closed Accounts, Stop Payments, Counterfeits and Forgeries. In the latter, we will protect the instrument for preservation of fingerprints, attempt to obtain an Affidavit of Forgery, file a case with the police and/or provide you with copies of all paperwork.
